IRMED e.V. – at the interface between university, public and economic sector

The aim of IRMED e.V. is to foster research and technology-transfer in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy. In particular IRMED e.V. supports goal-oriented networks covering such diverse partners as research groups, companies, political institutions and stakeholders – both on a national and international level. However, embryonic stem cell research is excluded from the sponsorship. IRMED e. V. keeps office space and laboratories within the Biomedical Research Center Rostock (BMFZ). These can be made available to cooperating research groups. Furthermore, IRMED e. V. supports education and advanced training in the field of cardiac stem cell therapy.

IRMED e. V. is a non-profit association. Networking as well as basic and advanced training-projects are coordinated and led by the association board and conducted by volunteers. The latter are responsible for the supervision of pupils and students during practical training courses. Within the framework of sponsorship of technology transfer as well as education and advanced training, the association’s board of directors also advises for example the zoo of Rostock to develop the „Darwineum“ and offers talks on conferences.
